Novara Software ("Novara", "we", "us", "our"), operating as Novarasoftware.ai, provides KanisaPro. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when churches and their authorised users use our platform.

This policy applies to church staff accounts, platform usage, and data that churches store in KanisaPro about their members and operations. It does not cover third-party websites linked from the platform.

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, church name, location, and role
• Church profile data: logo, public page settings, denomination, and contact details you provide
• Usage information: sign-in activity, sync status, device/browser type, and error logs needed to operate the service
• Church-entered records: member names, contact details, giving, attendance, pastoral notes, and other data your church chooses to store in the platform
• Payment references: deposit amounts and references you share for licence activation (we do not store full bank card details on our platform)

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve KanisaPro
• Authenticate users and enforce access controls
• Sync data between devices and our secure cloud infrastructure
• Activate licences, manage billing, and respond to support requests
• Protect the security and integrity of the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

Novarasoftware.ai does not sell, rent, or share your personal information or church data with third parties for their marketing, advertising, or unrelated commercial purposes.

We do not disclose your information to data brokers, advertisers, or partners seeking to contact your members independently of your church.

We use essential infrastructure providers (such as hosting and database services) only to operate KanisaPro, under confidentiality obligations and solely on our instructions — not for their own independent use of your data.

We may disclose information only when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Novara, our users, or others.

For member and congregation data that your church enters into KanisaPro, your church is responsible for determining what to collect and for obtaining any consents required by applicable law. Novara processes that data on your church's behalf to provide the service.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and database row-level security. Offline data remains on your device until you sync.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.

We retain information for as long as your church account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Churches may export data using built-in backup tools.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you or your church account. Contact hello@novarasoftware.ai and we will respond within a reasonable time.

We use cookies and local storage for essential functions such as authentication sessions, language preferences, and progressive web app caching. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email where appropriate.
